Singapore shares closed lower on Monday, in line with a broad regional sell-off following losses on Wall Street and tensions in Ukraine. The benchmark ST Index ended down 24.86 points, or 0.76%, at 3,242.71 on turnover of $1.16 billion. Here are some stocks that could move the market this Tuesday morning:
Fraser and Neave (F&N) has bought a 70% stake in Malaysia's Yoke Food Industries (YFI), as it continues its efforts to become one of the largest food and beverage companies in Southeast Asia. F&N -- one of Singapore's oldest companies -- paid $21 million for the purchase. Yoke Food Industries manufactures, markets and distributes canned beverages in Malaysia.
Aspial Corporation said that it has signed an agreement to buy its third Melbourne property this year. The freehold property was acquired by its new subsidiary, WCL-A Beckett (Vic) from City Light Properties for A$26.8 million ($31.2 million). The property has a total land area of 14,000 sq ft but it has an active planning permit for a new 49-storey tower, comprising residential apartments, serviced residence and retail shops.
