Singapore shares rose following a rally on Wall Street overnight  boosted by a better-than-expected U.S. jobless claims report. STI up 29.77 points to open at 3068.12.

Oil prices has also retreated amid hopes that the Libyan crisis could be resolved.

2. European Central Bank holds rate at 1.00%, and said an interest-rate increase may be needed to fight inflation.
