Singapore Airlines (SIA) is investing close to USD150m in introducing the products on 8 new Boeing 777-300ERs which SIA will take delivery of over the next two years, with the first to enter service in September. First class seats will feature curved side panels, ambient lighting, greater stowage space and a longer 82-inch bed. Business class seats will be 2 inches narrower than the current one, however, seat recline has been increased from 125 degrees to 132 degrees and it will now offer two additional recline positions. In economy, passengers can expect more space, increased legroom, adjustable headrests and touch-screen monitors. An enhanced KrisWorld with over 1,000 entertainment options will also be offered, along with bigger screens. The new cabins were unveiled yesterday with the improvements aimed at providing greater comfort and functionality, better features as well as an updated look. SIA traditionally receives about 40% of revenue from premium seats. Shares in SIA closed at SGD10.09 yesterday, up four cents. (Business Times)
