BBR HOLDINGS BAGS HDB CONTRACTS WORTH $182.9M

BBR Holdings Limited  has through its subsidiaries secured two contracts worth $182.9 million to build 1,282 units of Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats.

The first contract, secured by Singapore Piling & Civil Engineering Pte Ltd, is for 808 flats at Kallang Whampoa.

Works for two blocks, a roof garden, resident committee centre, mini-market, precinct pavilion, an education centre, link bridges and other related civil engineering works are scheduled to be completed
in different phases by end-2015.

The second contract for 474 flats at Sengkang is scheduled to be completed by April 2015. Secured by Singa Development Pte Ltd, this contract includes seven blocks, a childcare centre, roof garden, driveway and service roads.

These are the group's third and fourth contracts from HDB and bring the group's current order book to $953 million.

The group started working with HDB in 2009 when it was involved in building 864 flats in Yishun. It is now working on its second HDB contract, valued at $179 million, to build 17 blocks of 1,386 new homes in Pasir Ris Neighbourhood 5, and is due for completion in the second quarter of 2014.

It is also working on other civil engineering and building projects from both the public and private sectors in Singapore and Malaysia. Across the Causeway, BBR Group is working on two contracts totalling RM76.45 million (S$30.45 million) to construct and complete the facilities works for the Kelana Jaya LRT Line Extension Project, Package A and B, in Kuala Lumpur. These are expected to be completed at the end of 2012 and the third quarter 2013 respectively.

Between May 2012 and October 2012, the group secured $50 million worth of miscellaneous specialised engineering and construction contracts.
