BACKGROUND
■ Japfa Ltd (Japfa) is a leading agri-food company that produces multiple protein foods, with operations in five high-growth emerging Asian markets. For over 40 years, it has developed core competencies across the agri-food value chain including animal feed production, animal breeding, livestock fattening and consumer food.
■ Japfa is a market leader across multiple classes of protein foods, with an emphasis on milk, poultry and beef, complemented by growing businesses in swine and aquaculture. In Indonesia, it is one of the two largest producers of poultry and currently produces approximately 1.5m day-old chicks per day. It has replicated its industrialised, vertically-integrated business model for poultry production in Vietnam, India and Myanmar. In China, it successfully replicated its Indonesian dairy business and is today one of a small group of leading producers of premium milk.
