QE Tapering - The Fear Factor

Global equity markets for the week ended 21 August 2013 recorded massive outflows of USD12.4b versus last week's inflows of USD1.3b

This is the first outflow at the global level since June 2013 and is more severe - ETFand non-ETF investors recalled USD12.3b and USD0.1b respectively. US led the outflow with USD14.3b, which was also the highest since we started tracking flow trends in 2011.Europe was the only region which recorded an inflow of USD1.1b.

Markets are generally pricing in the likelihood that the Fed will begin tapering asset purchases as early as the Sep 17-18 FOMC meeting.
