Video 1 - More Support for SMEs
In his 2013 National Day Rally speech in Mandarin, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck will meet with different business representatives to seek out ways to support SMEs. He also said the government is aware that SMEs are facing a shortage of workers, but they need to control foreign worker numbers to avoid serious consequences.
Video 2 - Improving Singaporeans' lives
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the government has introduced various schemes over the last few years to help lower income families deal with challenges and cope with stress. These include the GST Voucher, Workfare and Special Employment Credit. He also said the government will take special care of elderly Singaporeans by strengthening social safety nets and reducing their worries. Mr Lee concluded that Singaporeans can look forward to a better tomorrow because the government will do its utmost to help them.
