Video 1 - Together, Our New Way Forward
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said in his 2013 National Day Rally Speech that the community and the government must provide more support to individuals. He said the government will make three key shifts: strive to give every citizen a fair share in the nation's success, strengthen social safety nets, and ensure that every child will have access to a good education. Mr Lee said these shifts will be applied progressively to all social policies.


Video 2 - Housing
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Singaporeans can use mostly CPF to pay their loans, which will allow them to pay off flats in 25 years instead of 30 years. He said the government will extend Step-Up Housing Grants to four-room flats. Mr Lee also said that middle-income households will get up to S$20,000 more if they purchase a four-room flat.


Video 3 - Improved Healthcare Financing
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Medishield will be revamped to become MediShield Life, which will cover all Singaporeans for life, including those with pre-existing illnesses. Singaporeans will not be able to opt out of MediShield Life. Mr Lee also said the government will help to pay MediShield Life premiums for the pioneer generation so they will never need to worry about healthcare in old age.


Video 4 - Education - Edusave
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong recognised that it is important to keep paths upwards wide open to all Singaporeans in education. He said the government will contribute to Edusave accounts of every child of school-going age, including those in madrasahs, overseas students and home-schoolers. Mr Lee also said from 2014, every primary school will have at least 40 places for children with no prior connection to the school.


Video 5 - Education - PSLE
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said PSLE will be scored differently with wider bands for grades; this change will take several years to implement. He said the Ministry of Education will broaden Direct School Admission categories to admit students with outstanding qualities such as character, resilience and leadership into secondary schools. Secondary one students in all streams will also be allowed to take a subject at a higher level if they have excelled in that subject in PSLE.


Video 6 - Community
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the government will set up a volunteer youth corps to support Singaporean youths by providing resources such as: funding to start their own projects, allowances to take time off for full-time community service, and grants to continue serving the community after graduation.


Video 7 - Changi Airport
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong shared redevelopment plans for Singapore Changi Airport. He noted the replacement of the Budget Terminal with Terminal 4, and said that plans for a Terminal 5, which will double the capacity of Changi Airport, are underway. Mr Lee also said that a carpark outside Terminal 1 will be replaced with 'Project Jewel', which will expand the capacity of Terminal 1. He said that 'Jewel' will have shops, restaurants and an indoor garden.


Video 8 - Bold Plans for Singapore
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the government will build a new RSAF airbase and a fourth runway at Changi East. He said the Paya Lebar Air Base will be moved to Changi to free up land for homes, offices and factories. There are also plans to free up prime land in Tanjong Pagar and also a plan to build a brand new Southern Waterfront City. Mr Lee wraps up his rally speech by urging Singaporeans to work together to forge a new way forward, and to create a better future for all of us.
