Different cultures celebrate their New Year at different times of the calendar year and in many different ways. The Songkran Festival is Thailand's New Year Celebration and it is a real party! I'm sure many of you have heard of the festival where everyone sprays water at each other for days? Well, this is it. Other nearby countries like Cambodia also celebrate a similar version during a similar period of the year. During the New Year celebrations,Thailand has a culture of pouring water over the hands of their elders as a sign of respect. Yet somehow, the celebration has evolved into a massive water party covering many streets of various cities throughout Thailand. Out on the streets, shopfronts would have huge buckets of water prepared, everyone would be equipped with a water gun of some sort. Pick up trucks would be loaded with enthusiastic party people, wielding huge water canons firing into the crowds! It's a good way to beat the April heat though, as this is one of the hottest periods of the year for this region.
Thailand sounds like a great place to be right now, doesn't it?
Wouldn't it be great, to be able to travel and experience all the different celebrations, from all around the world?
I think many of the people who picked up trading, seek not just an alternative income source, but rather, they seek a form of freedom. Be it financial freedom or time freedom or even location freedom. Some people want the option to work because they wanted to, not because they needed to. Some people want to be able to earn an income while maintaining a flexible schedule, so they can spend more time with their family, attending to the needs of their loved ones. Some others, want to travel the world, they want to be there at every New Year celebrations of different cultures everywhere.
I believe many people have been lured into this game by the false promise of easy and instant riches, by the unscrupulous aggressive tactics of online marketers.
Why is that?
It's because on those good days, they caught a glimpse of what trading can possibly be for them. Suddenly their eyes are opened to new and real possibilities.
This doesn’t mean you have absolute freedom, but a higher degree of freedom, much higher.
(Hello, you still need to do your homework and trade! Or develop other streams of income!)
However, becoming a consistently profitable trader is not an easy feat. It takes a lot more work than anybody actually realizes at the start of their journey. It's more work than most are willing to do. Not only that, but working hard in the right direction is equally important, and the right direction is sometimes not easy to find. The rewards of succeeding, are immense. But the work will never be done, you need to be constantly working on improving and constantly thinking. The market poses a new challenge to traders every single day.
Maybe, let's say, you are able to bring your children to school every day, have lunch and dinner with them, be there for them every single time they needed you.
Maybe, let's say, you could go to work with a smile on your face because it's something you wanted to do.
Maybe, let's say, you would have been to every single New Year celebration of all the different cultures in the world.
Maybe, let's say, if you put in the work.
Maybe, let's say, if you submit to the time.
Maybe, let's say, if you find your direction.
Maybe, let's say, it's all possible.
Would you submit yourself to the process, the work and the time for, let's say, some of these maybes?
The New Year period is from 13th to 15th April every year, so mark that out on your calendars and start planning how you'll get there.
Maybe, let's say, I'll see you there… have a good trading week folks!
P.S. Thailand is actually going through a really bad drought right now, so although you would still be in time to hop on a plane over there, I’d suggest giving this year’s celebrations a pass.
