Business Background

Ascendas Real Estate Investment Trust (A-REIT) is a Singapore-based business space and industrial real estate investment trust (REIT). The principal activity of A-REIT is to invest in a diverse portfolio of properties and property related assets. The Company has diversified portfolio of 93 properties across five segments: Business & Science Parks, H i-Tech Industrial (21%), Light Industrial/ Flatted Factories, Logistics and Distribution Centres and Warehouse Retail Facilities. The segments cater sectors, such as telecommunications, biomedical, general manufacturing, as well as lifestyle and service industries. As of March 31, 2011, in multi-tenanted properties, Business & Science Parks had 294,648 square meters of net lettable area; Hi-Tech Industrial had 202,196 square meters lettable area; Light Industrial/ Flatted Factories had 228,865 square meters of lettable area, and Logistics & Distribution Centres had 300,068 square meters of lettable area.
